About Us
ASDR Mini AussiesWhat are we up to now?
We've been raising ASDR Miniature Australian Shepherds (Mini Aussies) for several years now and have a few litters each year. These make great family pets not only for the farm and ranch life but also great city dogs too! Mini Aussies are really smart dogs! We've developed a lot of friendships because of them, and enjoy seeing all the tricks they learn. We have retained some our old bloodlines that came from our original Mini Aussie named Ruby who will always be very dear to me. To change things up a bit, we have introduced BET into our program from lines that stem from Louisiana and Oklahoma. In 2021, I've started transitioning my Mini program to Toy Aussies. I feel as if I reached my intended goal with the Mini's and want to pursue a new goal with the Toys. From time to time we may have some larger toy/small Mini Aussies available. Feel free to e-mail or call if interested! |
2021 marks our 42nd year of raising Miniature Horses
In 2017, we decided to semi-retire in the Miniature horse business. We have sold our herd way down, but have kept just 4 horses. Our ASPC/AMHR stallion : SMO Pistolero De Suerte and 2 of our favorite home-grown mares. We may have an occasional foal available. Valley View Farm is a small farm located in southeastern South Dakota, located west of Sioux Falls. We bought our first miniatures in 1979. Since then, we have bred for the Arabian "look" in the miniature horse with good confirmation, disposition and color. Valley View Jet Stream was the backbone of our breeding program for many years. In 2014, we adopted our grandson, Phoenix.
He's a very important part of our lives and we are very blessed to have him. He has lived with us all his life. He loves the farm life as much as we do. His work ethic is like no other. Recently, he has taken an interest in photography and has developed his very own website. Please click on the picture above to check it out. Even though we only live on a 12.5 acreage, Phoenix has a love for farming thanks to our neighbor, Bill. From little on, Phoenix was fascinated by anything and everything John Deere. Into his teen years, Phoenix has obtained a John Deere 950 and John Deere 3020. He's spent a considerable amount of time collecting small scale tractors and making displays and creating miniature sized farm equipment to make mini hay bales. Currently, he's restoring an old Cub Cadet. His new found love has turned to old John Deere Patio garden tractors. He even got ahold of some machinery to square bale hay. He loves his snub nosed dogs. He started with a Pug named Ellie who's life ended too soon, along came a Pug named Pickles in 2022. He dabbled in raising Frenchtons for awhile too while still in high school, you may have run across Phoenix's Frenchtons on Facebook. |
